Today I spend 45 minutes on the phone with Verizon FIOS tech service trying to get my internet connection restored. After the tech had me take several actions on my computer and router, he declared that the router was faulty and needed to be replaced for $145.00, plus $9.95 shipping.

Before I could ask additional questions, I was cut off. Rather than go through the automated phone system to get back to Verizon, I called a tech at Ardmore Computer, in Ardmore, Pa. Rob told me it did not sound like a router problem. He suggested I check a setting on "MY COMPUTER" while he remained on the line.

He found the problem in a couple of minutes and I was back on the internet without spending more than $150.00 for a router I did not need. As far as I'm concerned Verizon tech service is useless and can cause a lot of unnecessary costs.

Problem description here very vague. Sounds like a simple software selection.

Do you call Chevy and *** or do you educate yourself. Case in point if you buy a computer learn how to use it and stop blaming others for your laziness and stupidity
