I bought an auto-pay plan from Verison, $15 a month, about 8 years go. Used rarely my account balance rose to $986. Tried to call out on June 4. Could not. Auto-operator said I owed money, account balance zero.

Two calls to Verizon both said my June payment would have pushed my account past their "limit" of $1,000, so they zeroed my account (stole the $986 dollars)

Then the first operator, and on the second call the supervisor tried to sell me a much more expensive plan. I asked if he would do business with a company that stole from him. He paused, but said my account balance would be restored.

I'm looking for a lawyer.
