When purchasing a new phone to replace a damaged old phone, I purchased the new phone on-line. I was a little uneasy when I was given only 2 choices concerning the new phone, did I want a new line or 2 upgrade service?
Well neither one, really. The chat person who popped up to answer my questions said to choose 'new line' and then the old number could be switched to the new phone upon receiving the phone. Not so.
They did indeed switch the numbers, but they will not release the 'new line' issued with that phone unless I return the phone or pay $175.00 early cancellation fee for the line I don't want and can't use. Do not utilize Verizon on-line purchases, the customer service is lacking and untrained and it is entirely possible that much of this is deliberate.
