I have the "old" copper wiring on my house. The line has a crackle sound when you pick up the phone . I tried to get this fixed and verizon says that they won't fix it unless I convert to there Fios. my dad has to have a landline which is set up to his defibrillator which sends signals out in the event that his heart stops. We told this to Verizon when we ordered the landline. Now our phone has been down more than 24hours and we were told we have to wait for someone to come out here to fix it. If only i knew last week what i know now i would have never renewed my contract. I called three times for service 12/12/2015 and twice service hung up on me; no bad interaction, they just hung up. Terrible service. Costomer service non existant. Stayed on phone over an hour trying to speak to a person. Transferred 3times and hung up on the 4th transfer. ZDo not use verizon fios!!!!
