After 4 years as a loyal Verizon customer, I upgraded my service on June 24, 2010, thereby increasing my bill. Mind you, this was 3 days after Verizon announced that they were introducing no contracts to Tampa customers. Now, my house has sold and I am moving to a location that is serviced by Brighthouse, their biggest competitor in this market – and of course I am being charged a $315 early termination fee. Apparently, I listened to a recording in which I accepted yet another 2 year contract. Absolutely ridiculous! Oh and I was on hold for 52:34 before I was able to speak to a representative!
