Poor customer service for a member of 18 years

I recently noticed that Verizon has been charging me for over a year for a line that belongs to a new iPhone I never received. They never cancelled the line.

I spoke twice with an agent; the first one told me they would escalate this to a different department, which they never did. I called a second time and spoke with another agent who told me they would refund me for the portion of these charges and acknowledged it was their fault. They never escalated the issue and never opened a case. The third time I called, I found out I did not have any pending case regarding the refund of my money or anything else.

The agent told me they couldn't refund my money because the charge was my responsibility. So, they will not refund me.

I am beyond disgusted that a company who makes millions cannot rectify an issue that was their fault and attempts to steal customers' money. It's disgraceful and distasteful.

I am happy with their services.

I contacted them from Zimbabwe to have them unlock my iPhone 11, which I bought from the USA, and it was carrier-locked. As soon as they received my email, they did everything within their power to resolve my issue. Eventually, within three days, my phone had been successfully unlocked without any payment.

I have had nothing but problems with Verizon since day one.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Trying to get my refund that I was told I would get since I returned the phone to the store back on May 23rd. I spoke to three different reps after I returned the phone.

The first guy said I would get my refund (the tax I paid for the phone that I returned to them) by June 11th. I didn't. So, I called again on the 13th. The girl said that the previous guy never even submitted my request for my refund, and she promised me I would get it by June 27th at the latest.

Of course, I didn't! So, I called again and this girl said that I was only getting a credit towards my bill which I don't have a bill (or the phone anymore). She changed her tune a little when I said that I don't think it's even legal for them to keep tax paid on a product that was returned. So, she said, oh, you're right, you will be getting refunded by July 3rd, for sure, for sure.

Well, today is now July 6th. Did I get my money back? *** no! Would I ever recommend Verizon?

*** NO!

THEY ARE LITERALLY THE WORST OF THE WORST. They lie, cheat and steal from everyone I have ever spoken to about them.

Not even right info

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

On a recorded line, I was told by my cell phone company that I have been a Verizon customer for well over a year. I don't get paid until July 18, 2024.

I told the customer service representative that. She stated I would be fine and just needed to pay it in full, which wasn't a problem since I get paid weekly. But no, they cut off my cell phone service two days beforehand. Here I am using Starbucks WiFi to post this.

They will not allow me to speak to a representative today either unless I make a payment I don't have!

Tell your customers the right info so they're not stranded without their cell phone service. And get some humans to talk to, not robots!

Unresolved issues

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I paid off my IPhone 14 and switched to Verizon trading in my old phone for a 15 Pro. The promotion at the time was that I would receive an $823 credit for my trade in toward this new phone that was a grand or just over.

In order to qualify for this promotion, I also had to go with the fancy $90 a month plan that far exceeds my needs or what I will ever use. I noticed that my bill was $153 for one line which didn't make sense in the first place, and then it went up to $157 a month. I reviewed my bill and noticed my trade in phone was never credited to my account so they are charging me more monthly for it and they say I owe a lot more money than I actually do. Also they added Netflix and HBO Max to my plan which I did not authorize and don't use.

I contacted Verizon upon discovering these discrepancies and brought these things to their attention and was told none of this was a problem and they would resolve it and to call back on a specific day. When I called back I was placed on a brief hold and then told I would be called back in a few minutes, this did not happen. I still have not been credited for my trade in and they still have not removed streaming services from my plan. My issues are not being taken seriously and have not been resolved.

At this point I am going to pay the $50 I actually owe on my new phone and switch to T-Mobile.

I know their service area isn't as good but at least you don't have to deal with all the hidden fees and the headache. It seems like Verizon is just worried about their numbers and could care less about their customers.

Overpriced/Fradulent Company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

April 23, 2024: In order to save over $120 a month (after paying their overinflated fees for over 10 years), I decided to move my phone service from Verizon. This should have been a seamless process, with the added bonus of being able to keep my number. In the middle of the transfer, I was locked out of my Verizon account, unable to retrieve my account number or PIN to finish porting my number. After multiple attempts to explain to Verizon robots and humans with the inability to understand simple declarative sentences, Verizon continued to send texts to the account I was unable to access due to them locking me out. I was accused of fraud, as the account is in my deceased husband's name - despite me showing up at the Clarksville Verizon store 3 years ago with the death certificate to close the account, being reassured that I would not have any issues in the future. There was no resolution, so I was forced to accept a new number from the new company I went with. I went on my way, happy that the account was closed and I would never again have to talk to these people.

May 11, 2024: Verizon drafted 101.05 from my bank account, despite the account being requested to close on April 23. This caused an overdraft and a financial hardship.

May 13, 2024: After spending over an hour with lengthy hold times and multiple explanations, I was reassured a full refund would be issued to either my bank account or a check would be issued - being split into two separate payments, for some incomprehensible and invalid reasons. There was no clear explanation why a paper check would even be an option rather than just returning the money they took from my bank account.

June 6, 2024: I have not received a refund to either my bank or a paper check in the mail. This is 17 business days since I was promised the refund, which is more than ample time for either option.

The purest definition of Fraud

Total undeniable Fraud was committed against my son as I was on the phone with the Verizon store rep and witnessed it my self.

I will really shorten the story but here is a synopsis: My son and wife went if to the Verizon store in Blairsville Ga and asked about trading in his phone. The employee, who I feel did not commit Fraud, said we can give you 400.00 trade in.

My son heard it and his wife and my self and my wife plus we saw it on her screen, it said 400.00 allowance on his phone, so he took the offer that they made. First bill comes out and it shows that he go 200 instead of the 400 so we called Verizon corporate and the rep said sorry, but those franchise stores often do not know what they are doing and there is nothing that we can do.

You have to be F

*****g kidding me. If that is not Fraud then What is???

I believe it is a way for them to ignore there responsibility for the consumer to which we the people are paying their wages.

So it is looking like they are taking our money and running. Running like a thief.

Poor communication; complete LACK of customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

As a new Verizon customer, I'm very frustrated to see just how difficult it is to get in touch with a live customer service agent. Their artificial voice machine will not connect you to a real agent no matter what you say or what button you press.

I was supposed to receive my new phone several days ago but, according to the tracking information, it still hasn't been shipped by Verizon! I recently switched to Verizon after leaving a different service provider and my first impressions with this company have been very poor. I don't think I'll be keeping my service. I paid a $40 shipping fee to have my device delivered on the same day I purchased it, but I still haven't received anything almost a week later!

Not only that, I try to call their customer service line over and over, but I can never get a real agent on the phone! Their customer service lines are always 'busy' and they also close extremely early, around 5 or 6 PM, making it even more difficult for customers to connect with live support agents who could help them resolve their issues. So if you're expecting a device to be delivered after 6pm and it doesn't arrive, or maybe the package does arrive but you're having technical issues with your device that need troubleshooting before you can use it, you'll have to wait until the next business day to report your device never arrived or isn't working. They do not have 24-hour support like every other major cellphone or Internet service provider in the country, which is a deal breaker for me!

People don't have 12-24 hours to wait to speak to a customer service agent. I work from home and rely on having a stable phone and internet connection for my business.

Verizon's lack of communication and customer support could become a serious problem if I continue to have this much trouble with my phone service in the future. I will be switching to a new service provider immediately.

Promo

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was trying to claim a free TV promo that multiple Verizon agents told me I was eligible for. After about a month and a half of reaching out every time they said, and over 10 hours of my time, I was told that I was denied and not eligible.

I feel very disrespected by these reps and feel that none of them know what they are doing correctly.

I will never support Verizon again and I feel like they scammed a lot of customers with this promo. Looking onto their site, you can see multiple people on the forum on Verizon's site with the same issue.

I am hating the network

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The network in toledo ohio is horrible. I have been on the phone with customer service is god awful.

I was going round and round with these representatives for the last two years. I have been through about three phones. I have contacted the FCC, they lost my phone records, they truly don't care about having satisfied customers. I mean today, I had a representative tell me to delete my ESIM card.

I did so and I had no service for almost three hours.

I spent a total of two hours on the phone and online and they barely solved my issue. Also I have to call them weekly to have them resync me into the network.

I'd been a customer of VERIZON wireless since 2013, and never had an issue or required any assistance, in fact Verizon awarded me as a "contributor" giving me free services for revealing methods I had reproduced for using HD calling, a feature acclaimed only available or possible with Verizon phones, however, I did not have a phone from Verizon, and did not get it with Verizon.

After undergoing life threatening circumstances that forever changed my life, towards 2018, I had been charged thousands for services I was not, had not, and could not use while in a comatose state, on a hospital bed, with a less then 50% chance to recover. Thank the Heavens, I have been in part, recovering.

Following recovery period, where a court had granted a status of no sound mind and judgement, VERIZON would not and did not see this as applicable and charged me in full.

I! 2022 Id switch from prepaid to a full service account and that is when everything began to be the one, the worst consistent overwhelmingly detrimental timeline of experiances damaging my mental and physical health leading to medical treatments that still remain in effect.

I had been told in support calls, different explanations for different reasons, from different representatives, to the extent even now before typing this review, Verizon transfers me to Affirm Financial! I asked the Affirm Financial why Verizon would have transferred me and she couldn't understand why.

We both were confused.

Verizon gave me a Google phone, Google stated it was defective, but not before over 20 hours in the course of 2 months of tech support calls to Verizon which I had been told by Verizon asurion would replace. I was charge in full for the Google verified defective phone, in full for the replacement, in full for months I had no service or even an active phone number with Verizon.

Verizon has taken advantage of my medical impairments, exploited my disadvantages, and refuses even to litigate a resolution that could resolve these growing multitude of disputes but at the time I had made a dispute assured me each time until recently that they would address my claims.

DO NOT get Verizon under any circumstances.

They literally make false claims their service cannot deliver and will manipulate any consumer to get a payment and or both add more to the bill.

The Equipment they provide cannot deliver what even the Logo Vzw5G Home Internet suggests that the sales representatives had claimed is 5g while in fact, it is 4g.

This was not a simple misunderstanding! Verizon embellished the lie of "5G" further stating, after 40 gigabytes of data use per cycle, the speed will be reduced to, 4G.

I was a longtime customer 12 yrs and left them after they failed to honer their promotion and cost me approximately $1,700. The bate and switch is the worst part.

I called about 9 times in about a year and a half and could not get the issue resolved. Each time there is a new reason why it can't be fixed. First it was we didn't get the phones and tablet you sent, then it was, we only have one phone viable the other is cracked and can't find the tablet. Then it was we can't find the promotion to give you the credits so we'll change your plan to give you a small discount.

Now it's you changed your plan so we can't give you the discount now that we found the promo. Now that I've left, it's you owe us money left on the phones even though we didn't give you the promo or the credit for the trade ins.

It's a total scam and there should be a class action suite for this since it's been happening to many. My ordeal started Jan 2022.
