It began when Verizon disconnected my POTS line service as well as my DSL on the day before the bill was due. But I called them and paid the bill via their Pay By Phone (with the $3.95 "Convenience Fee"...) and called them back with the Confirmation #. I was...

Here's some advice to businesses that actually want to keep their customers: STOP OUTSOURCING YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Sure you'll get to pay people half way around the way half the wages, but they'll be as helpful as robots. In my experience, they've hardly ever talked to me like a human being or cared about my concerns.

They don't listen, and have only displayed competence in reading off scripts in response to the most common scenario. I might as as well have been visiting a website.

Com'on Verizon (and United and Wamu and...) Are they really human? Or did you just give your machines Filipino accents to make us think that they are?

Verizon Customer Service is the Worst

I have been trying for days to speak to a person about my account. I have been calling everyday for 3 days for 1 hour, which is my lunch break. I would be on hold for about 30 minutes, then someone who can not help me would pick uo the phone in order to transfer my call to someone that might be able to help me. I would be on hold for another 30 minutes or until I am ready to hang up the phone. What I want to try next is call a news station to complain, and if I can have someone be a witness to this horrible customer service. hopefully they can inform the others about Verizon Customer Service. I am ready to switch to another cable service. The price for the bundles or any type of deal that have is worth this much trouble.

Verizon overcharges on every bill!

For the past year, Verizon has sent bills overcharging and for services I did not have. If you do not look closely at your bill, you will simply pay for more than you are getting. My bills were so incredibly high, that I couldn't miss the errors. When you call customer service, first you are on hold for minimum of 30 min. before your call is taken, and I have received responses such as "I don't know why your bill is so high" or "That's your bill". After complaining to the Better Business Bureau the first time, I finally got a customer service manager who was suddenly willing to fix what he admitted were incorrect charges. But calling him monthly wears me out, to be honest, and he apparently only returns calls when he feels like it. So, back to the BBB, the FCC, the Division of Consumer Services I go. Join me. If you are being overcharged by Verizon (and you probably are), do not pay more than you rightly owe. My next stop is the State Attorney General's office.

I just got my second bill. The first one was for $165.

I looked over it and said okay, they charged me for activation and things like that.

I barely talk on my phone, and the second bill is for $616 dollars. DO YOU REALLY THINK IM GOING TO PAY THAT!

I know what you mean. We were being charged $70 a month for long distance, call waiting, and voicemail we NEVER had.

We tried going through customer services to resolve the problem (they did this for 4 months) and they said 'Just don't pay it'. So we didn't. Now we have no phone service because they turned it off since we refuse to pay these bogus charges.

On top of that, when we DID decide to pay, they said we needed to give them $160 to get the phone back on.

Alright, fine, we paid. They 'lost' it. And demanded we pay again. We paid AGAIN and they lost that one as well.

I've sent multiple bank statements, receipts, and tracking numbers from paying through other sources, and they still claim we never paid them. I'm sick of verizon, and I plan to switch to Cox soon.

I too am being overcharged for the past 5 months and there is still no solution. I think that I've developed neurosis because of stress experience every month with the verizon bill.

I've had to call the incompetent customer service every month since I signed up for the triple freedom bundle back in December 2007. The problem is simple to fix; they are not giving me the right discounts for internet and TV. One customer service was so incompetent that she couldn't do simple addition and told me that the bill was right when it was obviously wrong. She told me that the bill was right and if I was not satisfied with her answer that she'll have someone call me and hung up on me.

She was very rude. No one called so I had to call back and this time the customer service was more competent and he figured out the problem was in my internet portion. He gave me a credit so it'll make that month correct but he couldn't guarantee that it would be fixed permanently since they had to inform the IT department. Lo and behold next month came and I was still getting overcharged.

Again, told that they can't do anything and have to send it over to the IT department. Why can't the customer service fix the problem on the spot? They still can't guarantee when this problem will come to an end. I also returned two of the set top boxes and it's still on my bill.

I dread everytime I have to call Verizon.

I even had to get a new cell phone account with T-mobile instead of just adding my son to my Verizon Wireless account since I was afraid more problems would arise. If this problem persists then I'll have to contact BBB.

oh yes, Verizon's website does offer the best year round fraudulent activity lol. Finally got smart with one of their 'come back letters' and decided to check the 12 month - $19.99 phone offer out and no surprise that website didn't have just the phone offer and was pumping double/triple plays.

So I opted to check out phone with DSL and took screen shots this time around because it was no surprise that after plugging in the information, Verizon tried to pump their most expensive FIOS service and claimed that DSL was not available at my address when one of 3 building located at my address just had the DSL turned off a week before and another building at this same address still has DSL.. Not to mention, even a representative lied and tried to tell me the DSL interface had been removed when i still have the CD and Modem lol. For what this is worth and based on my own 9 months of VERIZON *** in this country and in India >> make sure you document everything (dates, times, verizon names/rank, along with getting the bogus confirmation numbers etc) and it also helps to have a phone company like Vonage where you can get hard copies of all the phone hours, so that you can file a "FORMAL (not informal) complaint with the PUC, which forces Verizon to pay their attorney.

Additionally, I have found the Attorney General is great when it comes to getting immediate results like making them honor a website deal that the representatives can only sell at higher rates, so if you want the advertised rate and aren't willing to pay more through a representatives then you will be referred back to the website, which will keep on pointing you to a page that states that you either need to try the site later or call a representative. And last but not least - depending on how you are paying, you can always get your credit card/bank to bounce any double/triple charges that Verizon tends to think are credits bounced back.

Verizon dsl: False Advertising

I am accusing VERIZON DSL of using false promotional come-ons to entice business. In Sept. 2007 I responded to a solicitation from them to change from Comcast to Verizon for my internet service. The promotion promised: "GET UP TO ONE MONTH FREE, PLUS A MODEM AND SET UP, FREE AFTER REBATE". The limited time offer was to expire 9/18/07. My work order is dated 9/24/07 which allowed me plenty of time. Set up was accomplished with only a few problems, but it is now Feb. 6, 2008 and I have not received FREE one month service; or refunds of set up fee or modem. They owe me $188.99. What I have received however, is the ROYAL RUN AROUND. I have spoken with many, many toll free numbers. The magnitude to which this company goes to avoid payment of promises is astounding! So SUPERVISORS who have promised all is taken care of and refunds are coming in the next bill......LIE! I have just learned, after all this time and phone calls I am not even in the system. WHAT????? EXCUSE ME????? The branch of this rotten company in charge of BILLING knows I am in the system! SO, I accuse Verizon dsl of trickery and false advertising. They totally STINK as a company. Sometimes I do not have to wonder too long about what is wrong with this country.

Verizon is too fat!

My land line just sucks;the line is usually down or its static most of the time. I live about three miles from the Verizon service garage on top of that. Oh well. I am going strictly wireless with Cingular. I know some people around here in Great Barrington who work for Verizon and all they do is brag about how much they don't work and hide from their work all day. I guess you get what you pay for. Here is the future of telecommunications for ya. Maybe Verizon management needs to place this group under a microscope; clearly its a waste of money for the consumer and the company as a whole.

Verizon in White Plains, New York - DSL review...

My DSL order was supposed to be ready on the 19th of December. I had all my connections right, still wouldn't work . I called the tech support to help them fix the issue. It just took me 5 hrs of calling and waiting before I got to some one on the phone! And they could not establish the connection with my dry loop either. After days of struggles and hours being on the phone, my internet still did not work. They just make you wait on the phone for hours and I just wonder whats the average call handling time is? 30 mins for a single call? Because the automated voice says, "you have to wait 30 mins for some one to answer your call " Excellent Verizon. You are number one in Customer Service! From Dec 19th to Jan 8th nothing happened. I was still without an Internet connection. Just paying a lot of money for nothing! 111$ is a lot... Well ordering was not simple either, had to wait long enough on the phone for that too! And VZ.com, isn't helpful at all. After no Internet connection for about 3 weeks, I finally decided to disconnect the DSL connection that I got, I was on hold for another hour, finally some one shows up, who could not pull my records, finally when she did, she told me she had to transfer me to the Cancellation department that took an other 2 hours! That's just to transfer the call! Finally I did cancel my account after hours of waiting on the phone and talking to your agents! What do you people really think! We are job less and our only job is to be on the phone waiting endlessly for a Verizon agent to descend from the heaven to pick up the phone! Now i have to wait endlessly for Verizon to refund my money! I don't know how many more phone calls and hours its going to take for Me to get my money back! And also think of giving all your poor customers some DISCOMFORT ALLOWANCE for wasting their time, energy and money trying to contact Verizon for HELP! Your service sucks!!!!! Wake up! Fix your system!

FCC, FTC, are a joke, all they do is send a confirmation of complaint receipt and tell the company not to do it again....then they do it again. Verizon does anything they please, I believe that that thousands of people are being ripped off by them.

They never answer your letters, they send an e-mail telling you that a \'specialist will contact you; and they never do, customer service tells you, \'just wait a couple of billing cycles, the credit will show up\' LOL. It\'s a shell game and we are the nuts.

The question is, what recourse do you have when a company does not satisfy a dispute. A thousand dollars for a lawyer for a 300 dollar bill.

Verizon Scam

I got a phone with Verizon in Dec 2006. Right away I was unable too use my phone in my house. I had ATT before and it worked fine, but,no signal through Verizon.I switched phones 3 times and still didn't work. Then, they said I couldn't turn off my phone because I had passed the cut off, BUT,I was assured it would be ok since I was having problems. Also the "deal" I signed up for, that the woman at the store gave me,well, they didn't set it up right and I got billed over $1000!!!!! After 5 months of fighting the fixed the bill,BUT,since I wouldn't pay till bill was right, they put me in collections and the worlds worst collection agency,Allied Interstate got me, and harassed me 12-14 times a day for 6 months.Verizon wouldn't accept payment and I refused too pay Allied who were calling me a "F'ing deabdeat" on the phone. Avoid Verizon.Their reception sucks, customer service agents lie and the use the worst collectors.

:( Ultimately this may, if allowed, either by me or via other graces, be the one case I've seen, of all the complaints I've read, that if people knew what I know, got it into court, and exposed through discovery, that exposed Verizon, Allied interstate, whatever they've done to col-lections w/ changes to obscure truths, and others employed at verizon,to be corrupt and irredeemably influenced.

In short, I'm this day dedicating my 21 years as a state licensed private investigator to whatever may come,if the cause is anti-verizon, it is by nature more likely than not, a just cause.

These people are evil. The company from merger to date has devolved in its practices and damages to our society. My records and memory go back to 2006 and before perhaps back to 2000 or 2001 with somewhat less clear memory due to time passage and life as time passes and people move etc.

I say little here, but this minor announcement will be my point of reference as to when my life is from now on until I see resolution or state I'm withdrawing my opposition to the

very essence of corporate greed, and human evil, which I see

verizon

as the worldly representative of that

foul word, and only fitting word for evil, as to be exemplar in the name Verizon.

Bessides, I havent decided how to proceed. I am only stating that I will offer free services and advise of a pro investigator to any and all whom I agree to assist, if they are victimized by this company or it's many subsidiaries and affiliates.

CAUTION: Verizon will go to any lengths to win in a case like this.

6 billion dollars plus can buy and *** a lot of good intentions.

If you are not a fighter for right and good, please dont seek the services.

All Verizon employees are disqualified for guilt by association is

prefered (as wrong as it seems)from

any free assistance, or help which may or not be implied with this small word.

six billion dollars
