Lack of customer service by derrick sanders

I just spoke to an employee at your company by the name of Derrick Sanders. He was rude and unprofessional. I simply called to inquire about a letter I received today and when I told him that this was not my bill his response was "Its not my fault that you didn't pay your bill". That was totally unprofessional. This bill was addressed over a year ago and Companies make mistakes all the time. I will resolve this issue with Verizon today and I will be vindicated. I think that Sanders needs immediate remedial training in how to be a professional! His lack of customer service was deplorable and needs to address.

wowo..wouldnt it be nice since we have your accts to publish your info online? i would watch it thats why i refuse to give out my last name, people like you. as far as him being rude were you a B**** first

#116774

What right do you have to publish a person's name on the internet. I am not sure if you can be sued for Libel or slander, but be careful. You are walking a thin line if you are not able to actually prove that this occured.

#110266

Welcome to the world of collections. You should have spoke to someone else to resolve but by hanging up, you made a mistake.

Verizon no longer has your contract and no way to help you.

What you need to do is get on ERS and get them to fire him. He is one of the most complained about people but because he makes the company so much money, they wont get rid of him.

Verizon deceptive misleading $99.00 mini netbook promotion.

Verizon is camming people in their $99.00 mini netbook reward promotion. They claim after ordering and using thei Freedom Bundle for 60 days, the customer will recieve a voucher to purchase a $99.00 Compaq mini netbook computer from the HP website. There is no $99.00 mini netbook, but in fact, that's what they want the customer to spend, plus shipping and handling. However, that is not the offer as stated in writting or in their e mail. When I called the rewards department on December 30, 2009, at 3pm, I spoke to a "Deena" who told me "I was wasting my time complaing, and to let the New York Attorney General handle it." I then called back to speak to a supervisor named "Holly" and she said she "could not comment on policy" and "Did not know what offer I was holding." This is totally deceptive and misleading. Why should I have to pay out of pocket for a computer they offer at $99.00? If that were the case, then the offer, the e mail they sent confiming the offer, and the vouvher should indicate those provisions. I hopt the AG of NYS is monitoring this and files a class action, as I am sure, I am not the only person angry about this. I am filing complaints with the BBB, AG and FCC regarding this matter.

PAY YOUR BILL I have found the best way is to get them in the pocket book. Pay them $1.00, then pay $1.01, then $1.02 etc... this way they will pay excessive transaction fees to the credit card companys, revenge is sweet

verizon disabled my modem and are still charging me and after they said they enabled it. after i got tech support and they couldn't help me they told me to call geek support.

several months not working and my contract ends in april and they said for me to cancel i have to pay $200 for this ***. verizon is total rip off

#120080

they are a rip off

#101045

Sorry I am not sure what the complain was.

What exactly is the promo?

You can buy a netbook for just $99?

Or you will get a $99 voucher to buy a netbook? Maybe they will give your $99 discount voucher to buy an HP mini ($300 to $400)

Verizon Fios Service is Great

Verizon services are a few dollars more but the internet and tv are great and they seem to be a good bunch trying to keep me happy. So if you do have a problem call Tech Support and they will help you right then. They are great..........Bob Therrien Florida USA The only down side to all of this they have to state if the wiring in my home is no good it would be a cost to replace which I don't see that a new home would have such a problem, Also when calling ask for American base refuse to talk to india..

This post does not include any specific instances where you were "extorted". There are only speculations and accusations.

You are more then welcome to file any complaints with any agency you would like. Verizon wireless records concerning your account are always available upon request.

#289201

Verizon is a scam. read between the lines.

and those lines also.

had a 2 phones ended up paying 1000 dollars to get out of the contract. A 1000 DOLLAR PHONE.

#168828

Your records are a waste of time; you're not allowed to record someone without their permission and use it in court. Soo...good luck with your case. And if your lawyer didn't tell you this...good luck with him too.

#166699

tbob3 is right. You cannot legally record the call without advising the rep that it is being recorded.

Additionally, it is against Verizon Wireless policy for you to record the calls. As a result, the rep is allowed to end the call if you do not stop recording.

#123434

im sure that when you are recording someone your supposed to let them know like the company does when you call in to us. id hate to see the employee come after you. but then again it would be funny to take down a customer for once

#122966

Get Straight Talk from walmart - they're using verizon towers, so you're getting unlimited talk, data, text for $45 - INCLUDING TAXES, and no contract

#106918

I worked for verizon-nothing shady in the 5 years I was there. Everything we said could also be found in print and online.

and not everyone wants to go prepaid-boost mobile has about 3% of the towers verizon does.

Added to my Verizon account without my knowledge.

I didn't catch this when it first happened, but just noticed my Verizon bill had become really high. When I contacted Verizon, they said I should contact OAN Services directly, as I must have signed up for this with them. I know I didn't. I called OAN and was told I signed up for their services on the internet on a certain date. They said they sent a confirmation e-mail - but I did not receive one. I already have a voicemail account. There is no way I signed up for this. I am now ready to cancel my account with Verizon as this is an infringement of my privacy, not to mention a rip off.

You can block third party billing on ALL landline services either Verizon, ATT or any other landline company by calling Verizon or your local carrier and ask for a bill blk to be added to your account, Just keep in mind when you do this you will not be allowed to receive any collect calls as yes that would be considered third party billing. We cannot have our cake and eat it too,

#103803

Discovered Verizon was allowing without my authorization a Media Co. to add $49.95 to my bill every month!!!

I intend to contact the Attorney General & BBB about this. This is not the first time Verizon pulled this I caught it two years ago.

I am done with them!!! How dare them assist with another company to steal from me!!

#96472

I just noticed this today as being on my last two bills. I called OAN and they said I will be refunded in about two months. Then I called Verizon and asked to be blocked from all such services. Verizon said that this would block the refund, so I should call back to block after I get the refund.

When I complained that this wouldn't happen if I switched to Comcast, the phone rep said that the FCC makes them accept charges from third parties. Incredibly ***, but probably true.

By the way, in my case OAN was just a pass-through from travelersvmail.com, which offers a service no one with a cell phone would want, and which of course I did not ask for.

We need some old fashioned consumer protection in this country.

#96441

I used to like Verizon but they have become slimy like the rest of them. I'm gong to finish up my contract but after that I'm done with them too. I just think they got too big and too greedy

Destroyed my credit, still fighting after 4 years.

Verizon Wireless is a Ruthless Tyrant.... Several years ago, I purchased my first cell phone, and immediatly had overage charges. I will admit, these overages were my fault, I was not paying attention to how many minutes I had used, I was in the middle of a divorce, and had a lot going on in my life. It would have been nice if Verizon kept there customers informed of just how far they are putting there customers in debt though. Anyways, the first bill was a 700.00 bill, ouch. I called their "customer service" dept. immediately to try to negotiate this bill. They had a plan that was only around 100.00 that would have covered the minutes I had used if I had been on that plan from the get go, so I asked them if they would just put me on that plan, and let me pay a bill that reflected that plan, after all, it was my first bill, and my first cell phone, they had me on a contract, and I would be paying them for the next 2 years anyways. Well, of course they would put me on a higher billing plan, as for the overages, that was a resounding no, they would not retroactive the bill, and no they would not reduce the bill, not even by a cent. Well, I could not pay this bill, I am not a rich man, so I asked them about a payment plan. No, they would not accept a payment plan. I had no choice though, I had to pay them off. Immediately, after they did not recieve the whole bill, they shut my phone off. After about three months, even though I was still paying 150.00 a month to pay off the bill that they would not work with me on, they sent the rest of the bill to collections. I continued to pay it off, and after about 5-6 months, I did pay it all off, in it's entirety. Well, jump ahead 4 years, and here I am, still disputing Verizon on my credit report, still trying to get them to stop punishing me for a bill that I have fully paid, and still extremely pissed that they are able to get away with what I would consider straight out assault on my credit report, and abuse from there very fraudulant billing system. I have wrote letters, by the dozens, made phone calls by the hundreds, and disputed my credit report to the point that they will not let me report any longer. If I had it to do all over again, I would have never had a contract with them, and I would have went to Sprint right from the moment I needed a cell phone. Want to know what makes it all the worse? I worked for them in their land lines department, if that is how they treat there emplyees, what do you think they care about their customers?

#120576

Let me get this straight, YOU incurred overages, YOU did not pay them, YOU violated your contract, YOU got your service disconnected, YOU made up your OWN payment plan.... And it's Verizon's fault????

#109198

I have a mark on a credit history that has been spotless for 10 years! I changed my address and was not receiving bills from Verizon on my final bill.

Cancelled my service after many years because I just got fed up with their customer service, they really are the worst!

Anyway I am being penalized for their error even though I paid the bill in full which I discovered on my own.

I switched to Sprint!

The Real Criminals

I have a dispute with verizon, I expect these crooks to be who they are, but the real criminals are the so-called consumer agencies that we pay taxes to, and never give service. I have sent my dispute to several government and business agents and never received any response except for automated e-mails; the PUC, the FCC, FTC, and the [lol] Better Business Bureau, who actually state that they don't handle consumer collection complaints against business. The deck is stacked, our government is owned by corporations, the consumer laws are a fraud, if you don't know somebody, or can't afford a lawyer, you have no rights. Perhaps this website could take the worst companies and deliver all the complaints to the proper agencies, but that is probably a subject for the forum. Best Of Luck To All.

Would not change my address

Can't get the company to change my address. I moved from my home on Aug.17,2009. I sold my home on Aug.31, 2009. I moved into a "long term care" facility and had my retirement check direct deposited. I had my phone re-connected at the retirement home...but...i have not been able to get the company to change my address to my new location. They still send letters to Betty Swisher, 217, Tenn. Ave. Martinsburg, WV. 25401. My new address id Betty Swisher, 200 Gloucester Drive, rm.319,Martinsburg, WV. 25401. Please have this changed or, as according to your letter, an incorrect address will impact year end tax/IRS reporting.

Verizone Fios service is the worst service ever!!!

I'm a new customer of Verizone Fios. Within a month, I have to call the service > 20 times!!! for the service that not working, either phone, TV or internet. 1. The system is so un-organized. The different departments don't communicate to each other. Once a problem fixed will create other problems. e.g. when they fix the phone, the internet and TV services become messed up. 2. Representatives are irresponsible. They keep transfer the customers to different places, waiting time is 15' in average, hang up the phone on customers, never call back when promise. 3. Animated answering machine system is insane. 4. technical support is very difficult to get hold on but the billing department is always available. Those are big problem that I have experienced with Fios. If you satisfy with your current service ( I had Cox before and their service is excellent!) then don't change to Fios like my mistake. They have the worst service ever and I'm a very patient and compliant customer.

Poor Service

Prior to July of 2009 my cell phone service was with Alltel and my service was good, account was also in good standing. Since July 2009 I have had numerous problems with the phones service, poor customer service that required me to waste countless hours of sitting on hold or being bounced from department to department to resolve my problems. At one point Verizon technical department wanted me to drive around and look for areas where the phone service discontinued to function and the report the address of the locations, a big waste of my time. When billing was contacted to negotiate the bill it again took many calls, hours and department bouncing to get to an individual that could reimburse me for loss service but not loss of time wasted dealing with the poor service and poor customer service. Since the loss time was not compensated I send an invoice for a fraction of my time wasted dealing with Verizon's low performance, the invoice 2266 dated 09/29/09 is still unpaid after many attempts to collect the debt. Verizon has not adequately relieved me of financial loss and I still continue to have poor cell phone service and more wasted time dealing with the repeat of the above mentioned items. I am canceling my service with Verizon due to nonperformance and filing whatever complaints through whatever avenues I can find to bring about justice to such negligence. I had no previous problems with Alltel and ever since Verizon has taken over the service the account has been plagued with multiple problems. I would hope that the BBB will take whatever measures to help in bring about justice where a large company can neglect and abuse its customers.

I just finished working with a sales person named Rose for whom wore a low cut top as to entertain her customers. However dress code is not important but tone of voice is.

I do not need to have a sales rep speak with a belittleing voice.

if this is your best quality personal, maybe you should voice your business somewhere else for entertainment for I do not need other customers looking at me as I leave your business! Oh yes traing them how to do something, like solve a problem, speak with customers, and maybe kindly help your customers

Verizon wireless a privledge?

We currently have a account with Verizon wireless for 5 phone lines, we recently placed a order for christmas for 4 netbooks, On Nov 30th we were told we needed to pay a bill of 131.00 in order for our order to go threw, we did this, we then recieved a email saying there was a credit hold and to contact them, we did this, they said that the order was set up wrong and they needed to reset it up and we were good to go, she said we should get a email letting us know it had been shipped that evening or next day, the next day we recieved nothing, that afternoon i called and they said there was 2000 people ahead of us and everything looked great with our order we should get confirmation and shipping information that night, the next morning we recieved a email saying we cancelled the order and if this was wrong to contact them, so i contacted them again, i was told this was sent to the fraud department and i needed to speak with them, so i called them and had to leave a voicemail for a return call, they returned the call and told me it was not a fraud problem that it was processed wrong they didnt link the new order to our original account, and i needed to contact cust service again and let them know this and she would add the notes to the account, so i called them back, the lady tells me that i have to pay 276.00 before they could help me cause my account has now went past due, this made me angry cause it wasnt past due when i originally placed the order, and i explained how do i know that the order will actually go threw once i pay the 276.00 dollars, and i asked to speak with a online sales supervisor, she transfered me, i was on hold for over 45 minutes and then was told not only do i have to pay the 276.00 dollars i have to pay another 276.00 dollars that isnt even due yet because it went over 30 days past due, and that is was a privledge to me for verizon to even offer me the additional 4 netbooks because i already had a account with 5 lines.

Verizon Customer Service

Last year, I made a mistake of combining Verizon phone service with their DSL high Internet access. The DSL department began to charge fees for the services that I didn't want. I called several times, spending minimum of 1 hour and going through several transfers each time I called. Finally, with a frustration, I terminated my services with them, even paying the early termination fee. A year later, I learn that Verizon reported me as a delinquent. So, I called Verizon today. Again, I spent 2 hrs, speaking to more than a dozen different reps; between transfers, my calls terminated three times. Then, when I finally reached someone who helped me, she told me that Verizon has no past records of me calling. Do not combine Verizon services to one bill. They have different billing departments and any dispute will lead to transferring calls from one department to another. DSL department is the worst. Their customer services are in overseas (I can tell that from the delay in the phone conversation and Indian accent). The customer reps in the overseas tend to hang-up the phone calls intentially.

I recently discovered that someone had opened a verizon account in my name. After being bounced around a computerized menu a finally reached the verizon account verification department.

I was told I needed to file a police report, send a copy of photo id and provide proof of my address in June of 2010. Being a renter in a relatives home, I do not have utilities, lease agreement, or renters insurance in my name. Verizon will not accept any credit card bills, car insurance, car registration, work pay stubs as proof of my address.

I basically was told today that until I can produce a document i do not have they can't do anything for me. I wonder what the person had to show or prove to get the account openned in my name??

Verizon customer service is poorly lead and poorly managed.I asked simply for a fax be sent on a undisputed claim and afer 10 days it still has not been done. Avoid this company at all costs. They are lazy, incompetent, and do not talk to their own people !

#127954

Donald have you gotten this straight?

Please let me know

#93821

I can vouch for just about everything already said here. I've been a happy Verizon DSL customer for 8 years. I decided to combine it with new phone service when I moved in May 2009 and had no troubles until October when Verizon inexplicably gave my telephone number away (without any contact to me to verify) because Charter Cable said they had a customer who wanted the number. After 3 days speaking with over 12 Verizon representatives (some of whom apparently made no notes of any of my calls and others who transferred me blindly to another department who told me they could not help and I needed to speak with the very people who had transferred me there) I was given a new phone number. The next day my phone service was cut off and my bundle deal became DSL-only (again with no communication to me to verify). I called and was told there was no record of the new number having been given to me (it worked the night before) and again that they could not help me and I'd need to call back in the morning.

I spent over an hour and a half the next morning on hold for someone in their orders department who managed to turn my phone back on and actually followed up (the only person at Verizon to do so over a 5 day ordeal). I specifically told her that I would not pay any termination or reconnect fees since the mistake had been Verizon's. She agreed. Today (December 10, 2009) I received a bill showing a $120 early termination fee for my bundle service. I called and was told by "after hours video" even though I had selected billing from the phone menu) that I had to call back before 3pm Central time -- a time when I am at work.

I'm saddened that 8 years of being a satisfied Verizon customer have been destroyed in just two months. I will be seeking corrective action, so if anyone from Verizon happens to read this and has the authority to correct Verizon's three mistakes on my account, give me a call. The name's Donald Eitner and I'm in California.
