I'm a new customer with Verizon - about 3 months on the service and wow, what a terrible difference from Optimum. I can't believe how bad the e-mail is and how much more user-friendly Cablevision is.

I was recently 2 weeks late paying my bill and my service was terminated without warning! I thought there was a service outage but when I called for support I was told it was bill related! Are they nuts! I was 90 days in arrears with Cablevision before I got a termination warning!

And at least I got a warning. Is it even legal to terminate service after only 2 weeks late? In addition, in order to get my service back on, I had to pay on the phone, for which they charge $3.50 - the only other way to get it back on was to drive to a Verizon Center! You can't even access Verizon's site to pay without charge.

They held my service hostage for $3.50! And now I find that there's going to be a $29 service reconnect charge! Reconnect what? No body came to my home and actually disconnected anything!

It's a flick of the computer, done automatically, without human intervention. Who are they kidding, service reconnection charges! It's really sick that we are stuck paying for TV and something needs to be done. Where are all you techies out there who know how to do all this stuff?

Let's bring free TV back! This is really sick that Verizon can do whatever they want. I'm filing complaints with every single agency I can find and all of you should do the same! Suggestions welcome as far as which agencies will break their nuts the most...

I'm out of here..back to triple play with Cablevision - a much better service - and they have the best customer service you can imagine - and service is not turned off after 2 weeks late. Eat that, Verizon.

Monetary Loss: $132.

Location: New York, New York

I know it's a few years later but I myself was 2 weeks late and I woke up this morning and my cable was out I kept trying to get it back on its different now you can do it through the TV, it kept putting back to billing so I went on the account on the smart phone and sure enough it was suspended because of two weeks!!!!

This is so very true.

I had to go to India for vacation and before going back I called Verizon 2-3 times- I was told everytime that there is some upgrade happening, so please call back. I actually wanted to get my services disconnected due to a poor customer service as well as issues with the internet speed (sometimes, it just used to hang by itself) and the telephone (it went off all of a sudden for 2 hours and came back).

But anywaym when I finally got in touch with them and I was in the process of getting my services disconnected, at the very last moment the call got disconnected. I got so frustrated and I tried calling back again but I couldn't get through them at all. I had to leave after few hours, thought that I'd do it from India (and use my international minutes)

Long story short - I did manage to get in touch with them and got my services disconnected around mid July - when came back beginning of August, found that my services were still ON until 29th July. They said it wasn't disconnected and we'll have to bear the bill until July 29th. I'm going to Court for this.Yes I do have spare time and I'm not losing anything on this but Verizon is

Wow...it's obvious that you're a Verizon employee or just someone with too much free time on their hands. I'm not trying to get anything for free and do pay my bills.

Sometimes there are events or family emergencies (for those of us that have a life)that unexpectedly create havoc in our lives.

I hold to my comment that termination of service after only 2 weeks late is a severe penalty. I would even understand 30 or 45 days late - and making sure the customer is contacted first.

Verizon is a regulated company by the FCC where as Cablevision is not. There are fees associated with "flicking the switch" as we can tell your not techie....there are OBVIOUS programming and behinds the scenes work from the switch to the central office that need to be done...your best option was to set up automatic payments or via Verizon Central in your account manager have the payments set up because like any other company...Verizon provides the service...if you make the payment.

Let's see how much debt/or how long Cablevision will last if ALL their customers are 3months late??!!??

Wow! You were 2 weeks late and you are mad that they turned your service off???

Try paying on time and you won't have any issues. It is people like you who don't pay and then the rest of us have to foot the higher bills because they have to raise rates.

If the customer made the effort to pay for a service he already used as he did to complain about it then he would not have these issues! This guy has nothing to blame but himself.
