Verizon Landline Problems

I live in Florida, where telephone service is no longer regulated, and have been with Verizon in the same location over 20 years. Five years ago, I agreed to sign on for DSL at a set "for life" rate. This was great for me as a Senior with fixed income. The service has been fine until six months ago. Intermittently, and worse when it rains, my phones get static, which causes the DSL to disconnect. This has been happening more and more. After extensive testing, Verizon determined the problem is with their outside line. They sent a tech, who declared it "fixed," it is worse than ever. A second tech came and, as there was no static at the time, declared the line "fine." A few hours later, same problems, and they continue. Florida now had no regulatory oversight of phone service, the companies convinced the government it was "not needed." So now I have to either put up with very bad phone and Internet or pay four times as much for the FIOS Verizon is hawking. Likewise, cable is unregulated and too expensive. So I guess soon, I'll be completely out of Internet, and have to go to Tracfone for telephone. Deregulation ... what a great idea for the companies, not the consumers.

Verizon 2yr Contract " Bait and Switch" I-phone 4

We went to a Verizon phone store in Batavia Illinois and signed up for 2 new phones. We gave $75.23 and was set up with an I-phone and a basic model also. We were very happy with what we had received and the service was great. ONLY 1 THING WRONG!!!!!!!!!!! When signing on the dotted line we DID NOT realise that the I-phone WAS ALREADY 2 YRS OLD!!!!!!! We haven't had our first bill yet and we are pissed! You'd think getting an up to date phone came with a new 2 yr contract . I Guess not! After speaking with 2 people at Verizon services and the mngr at that store ...............I got ripped off ! Any help? Verizon won't give me a I-5 or even the I-4s.!!!!!l Electricwinter @ yahoo.com

Verizon treats higher end customers like ***

you pay 160 a month for so many years for 2 phones with data, do you know you will pay 229.00 for iphone5. you pay 39.99 with old phone you pay 99.99 for iphone5 and get everything for 60 bucks a month. Verizon rips off established customers. I am going month to month when my plan ends , it is so much cheaper . Verizon will tell you there is no such offer but they do offer it to people who do not have smart phones already. the idiots like us have to pay 100 more but cheaper plan people get the biggest discount

Verizon - Poor Service - New Phone, No Assistance if not from that store

Poor customer service overall. My family has had a plan with Verizon for over a decade. We have, under several occasions, contemplated alternate service providers due to the inconsistent customer service that is provided depending on the store location, management and timing. Every two years, I dread the relations that I will need to have at a Verizon Wireless Store. Upgrades are very frustrating because it is the time that one is venturing into a new unknown world of phones and would like a great customer service representative that can assist in the best transition. I recently purchased a phone and the next day, I was near another store and thought I would stop in to buy a few accessories and request quick assistance on a few questions that I had in regards to my new phone. I was told that the only way that anyone in that store would assist me was if I signed up for a course, which they currently did not have that day. I proposed that it would be very helpful if one of the many representatives could at least review my specific request in order to see if this request was too much to ask for and that could only be dealt with during an hour session that was not occurring at the time of need. Needless to say, prior to completing my request for help with my new phone, the representative went to the back room and had their manager come to the front desk. The manager proceeds to tell me that I can follow through with my thought of returning it since I was getting ready to travel and needed a working phone due to the fact that I did not purchase the phone there, so it would not harm the store's numbers. I would then need to pay a $35 restock fee and that this store will not be able to help me with my request. I understand that the new initiative is "rule the air", but does this truly mean "rule the air at the cost of the excellent customer service that the company used to have but now is moving away from"? I do hope this does not continue to occur.

Verizon won't stop calling me about fios

They installed food in our area a few months ago and they won't stop calling texting mailing and emailing us. I have told them to take me off their list and they just hang up. I actually signed up for their service and the order confirmation came in $20 more per month than I was quoted on the phone. Then I couldn't find anywhere on their website to cancel and then it took forever to get someone to help me with customer service and then they tried to talk to me out of canceling. I was literally screaming at the rep to cancel my order and he finally did after several last attempts to get me to not cancel the order. Today someone came to the house pitching FIOS - ahhhhhhh

Verizon is Horribile

They could not provide service 2 miles from the store I got the phone. Verizon customer service suggested I return the phone and change to AT&T (they have reception. I tried to get an internet based boxed to fix it and got no support or service from verizon. They were unwilling to extend the 14 grace period by 2 days so I could try to fix there problem and I need to drive 20 mile to the store with the equipment to try it. I was going to do it... but the AT& T stove was acros the street. I went with AT&T. I returned it with the equipment within the 14 days. Now Verizon has run me around for 3 hours because I cant see paying $125 for 10 days of service. FYI this is my 6th post... I have had plenty of time since I am on hold with Verizon.

Verizon in Baltimore, Maryland - Change your current service and risk an additional 2 yr contract

I tried reducing internet and TV services I get from verizon so as to reduce cost. A customer service agent directed me on how to save the changes I made. I noticed making the changes will get me into an additional 2yr contract with verizon added to the period I have been with verizon. This was confirmed by the customer service agent.. Verizon in Jacksonville, North Carolina - Home Phone Box is a Rip Off

I have had a terrible time with this "home phone box." No one can hear me and I can't hear them. Tin Can is an understatement. I have taken in the box several times to the local Verizon store to no avail. Tonight, I called customer service to try to get out of the 2 year contract and return the box. No WAY. I was on the phone with various technicians and customer service people sending me through the same procedures over and over, switching home phones, unplugging battery, unplugging power. One and 1/2 hours! I have spent over 20 hours total trying to get this thing to work and made at least 3 trips to the store. Verizon is ripping me off. .. all for $215 dollars. I have been a Verizon customer for over 14 years and I will never use them again. They will not end the contract even though it does not work in my area. Obviously a greedy company that has lost its morals.

Verizon - Nightmare customer service and support

Verizon cut off my phone/internet service without my knowledge. Charged me an arm and a leg to re-establish the same service. Made me wait hours -- no I am NOT exaggerating -- on their various phone lines and speak hours more -- no I am NOT exaggerating -- with their mindless, clueless representatives who can be as creative in their problem solving as a doorknob. Oh, and they are great at giving lip service apologies and absolutely annoying fake sympathetic comments, but when they say "I am sorry" what they really mean is not what they say at all. I wish a government oversight entity would deal with these people and give them a taste of what it is like to be treated like the thieves that they are.

Verizon Fios

I signed up fpr the enhanced service with the DVR. The DVR sent out did not work and they had to send out a technician. The tech took back our old set top box and the DVR we had been sent and replaced it with a working DVR. Then I get my bill and I am being charged for both the set top box and the DVR. I called customer service and they said it would be credited on the next statement. Nothing happened. Then I called and the cust svc rep said that they had no record of the set top box being returned. IT WAS THEIR REPAIRMAN!! The rep said they would have to put in an order for the verification dept to ping the house and if my story was true I would be credited back. I have been fighting with them for over two years!!!!! I told them I wanted to cancel and they said I had an additional year left on my contract because apparently during one of my complaint calls, they said I renewed my contract. Lies, lies, lies.
