Verizon - Phone Service Review from Syracuse, New York

I am irritated that my IPhone 5 will not hold a charge. I have to have it constantly plugged in. I feel like it should be attached to a Rotary Dail Phone. At this point after 4 hours still not turning on. More irritating is having insurance on the phone but need to ship out to Apple, pay extra money and no local repairs will be done by Verizon. At this point they know this is a customer issue that they should resolve with the faulty products they gladly sell knowing it is totally more cost to the consumer. Not good business practice nor quality service. Very disappointed in Verizon in their deliberate misinformation and false sercurtity for purchases to have problems easily solved. Not everyone can buy a new phone because the one they were sold is more then less then an adequate product quality. K. Harvey

VERIZON FIOS - I WANT TO SUE YOU!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I was lied about when I signed up for the services, promised a Visa gift card that never came and then they said I wasn't entitled to it. I simply ask to hear the phone call with Verizon representative selling and promising the gift card, they never produced the phone call. I just switched services back to RCN and I swear to God, I will not pay a single penny for any contract cancellation. This is the worse company I ever dealt with. I have file a complaint with the BBB and the attorney general of the State of NY.

Your service stinks!

have internet and landline service w/you. Can't retrieve calls on your answering service all evening. Called 3 different service #'s w/no results. Waited TWENTY FIVE min onphone for tech support 2 one of 3 3's for you. 10PM and voice says "all operators are busy now" Twenty five stinking minutes????? Your service is worse than Time warner and that is pretty bad. Why do I get msg"all ines are busy now please call back later" when I try to retrieve call on your answering service? And why are they telling me the pin # I am giving is wrong. Do you have any live people working for you? Do you people even care????

Data over charges

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Verizon cell phone service has sent me over 100 text and emails warning me of "not enough data" and that I can agree to a $15.00 added bill charge to off set these extra charges. Then sent me texts and emails to make my data go over the limits and be able to charge me accordingly to their own wishes. I will cancel all of all and services from a company with such underhanded tactics as of today of all services and usage. This company cares nothing for its customers. I have been a customer for over ten years but no more. Terrible!!If necessary, i will seek an attorney to help resolve they're underhanded tactics.

Verizon DSL/FIOS

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Verizon has been trying to get me to switch to FIOS for years. I have stopped opening their mailings but I still have them and there are many dozens and they keep coming. If you happen to talk to anyone at Verizon they will try to sell you FIOS. Even the repair person who came to my house to fix the line tries to sell me FIOS. The problem was not in my house but they kept saying it was until I finally had to prove it to them. *** They destroyed my neighbors brick wall installing their box for FIOS. Everywhere they drilled or hammered is now a crack up the brick wall. They intentionally leave the junction box doors open down the street so that the copper wires become corroded. They will do anything to degrade my current DSL and phone service so I will be FORCED to switch to FIOS. I DO NOT WANT FIOS VERIZON!! Be warned that once you switch to FIOS you can never go back to your old copper wire connection. When hurricane Sandy hit this area my street lost power for a week. I was the only one around who had phone service. That's because FIOS also uses your electricity to charge the battery in their box. Once you lose electric service, the battery will go dead in a few hours and you will have No phone, No internet and No TV service through FIOS. With the old copper line the power is generated by the utility company and they have their own generators ready if needed. Their promotions to get you to sign up are very misleading. $79. for 2 years plus taxes and fees. Really? What are the taxes and fees? I do not know of anyone paying less than $100 per month for FIOS. They also lie in their commercials by stating that it is 100% Fiber Optics. From the side of your house to your TV or Phone or Computer it is still the same old copper wire or coax cable that is installed in your home. How convenient that Verizon simply eliminates these circuits from their equations. Get this. I have a TV antenna and get over 40 channels for Free! Why do I need FIOS? I can't believe how gullible we are to let these utility companies dictate to us that it is now normal to have a $100 to $200 per month bill that no one had or needed 10 years ago. My DSL speed is fine for me. That should be enough to tell Verizon but they are very persistent and will wear you down if you let them.

Your an ***.. The technicians want to fix your service whether it's copper or fios.

The company is abandoning the copper plant. They are not willing to finance 2 networks.

The utility company that powers those copper lines is VERIZON.. I really hope you do not reproduce, as you really have no clue..

Please don't get a plan with Verizon

OMG! ever in my life, I want Verizon as my carrier, every single month I have to call them for extra charges, nothing that they promised you is true, you would see in your first bill that they charge you nothing compare with what they told you when you purchase or sign for a plan, don't ever sign for that Verizon Egde (they change the name now) Well I can tell you that they even charge me for internet or icloud in my basic phone. If you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars every month don't even think in a family plan you will pay almost $400.00 for 4 lines with the promise of 2 gbs per line, but they really gives you 2 for 4 lines smart phones which is so ***, plus they tell you, you will pay 40+40+40+40=160 thats it wonderful right? not true, they charge you for gbs that for sure you have to pay more a lot more and insurance and more and more always more.

Paid contract in full

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Several months before my contract ended I called Verizon customer service and verified when my contract expired. My contract ended in approx 1 1/2 months and specifically told the rep that I wanted to pay it in full, which i did. Note: I was asked if I wanted to renew the service and I specifically said "NO", i was not renewing service. Several months later I get a bill from Verizon and I called customer service to see what was going on. I was told that I was liable for the bill because i never called to cancel (see note above). 1. I was never informed to call back once contract expired. 2. According to a Verizon supervisor...Verizon does not have contracts. 3. I was given conflicted information. Bottom Line: I will never use Verizon again (they probably don't care anyway). They assume that their reps are perfect and they always give customers the right information or advice (which they don't). Don't be fooled like i was...you should always make sure that the information is correct.

Verizon DSL internet

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Verizon has the crappiest internet out their! I pay for there best package and I only get 1.58 MBPS. That's it! They claim 3.0 mbps but the best ive seen is 1.58. It cost 59.99 a month and I had to buy my router from them or they could not provide support. Verizon has monopolize the area I live in, so you are forced to use their service unless you get satellite internet, which I'm going to do. It cost more but only 10$ more per month and is 10x faster. Hey Verizon its 2015 get with the times you money hungry POS

Verizon Phone Service Review from Prince George, Virginia

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I became widowed in June 2012 and had to build my new residence. I was told I needed a landline to have DirectTv and wifi. I had this service installed since my residence was constructed on my land that was actually a cornfield. Several months later I called because the account showed my deceased husband's name. I was assured it had been changed. Then months later, his name pops up again and I call and am assured info has changed. This was continual through 2013,2014(when I remarried). Still calling and now about changing the last name. Around May I noticed double auto drafts from my bank account under Geraldine Cullen and my deceased husband,Mark L Hopkins-a very "nice" lady explained it really wasn't double drafts. Now,in October with Verizon's revamp of system, I find my wifi and landline out of service- a lady informs me I have never had wifi, just a landline. Several days later I find out Verizon started a new account under Cullen and my bank statement shows an auto draft payment for $50.63 to the Hopkins M L account. My bank account has no connection with my deceased husband. Verizon now claims there is no record of my calls to change account to Geraldine Hopkins but there is something showing two accounts paying same landline. I happened to find an old Verizon bill in Mark L Hopkins from 2010 and there is the same account number I have! But the 2010 bill is for my old landline number and old address. I am really getting the run around!

Steer clear!

We're having the exact same problem - this company is useless - how they stay in business I don't know. Their poor hapless CSRs don't have a clue as to how to do their jobs and force soon to be former customers to suffer through endless holds, endless transfers and endless request to repeat the entire situation over and over again. It's really unfortunate because both the CSR and customer end up being abused, the CSR by virtue of the fact that they are neither properly trained and lack the requisite processes to resolve problems and the, again soon to be former, customer by having to endure this horrible experience. Whoever designed and implement this process should be terminated.

I like Verizon Service/I don't like Customer Service, Finance department and Billing department for unprofessional, incompetency and arrogance..

I complain for FIOS Customer Service: Nicole, Megan, Kelly, Diana Billing Department: Kevin, Are very incompetents, arrogant, manipulators and unprofessional. I have documents and payment receipts, for their revenge to me. They block my account and hide all my account info. I hope they will be more humans, and change before to be later. I am very offended from them. You have all documents in my account and Info Communication with Customer Service Department. I left from Verizon (Resident Service) only from the worst Customer Service i ever meet. I still have wireless service and I am happy from Customer Service, are the best. Verizon doesn't keep its promises

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
OK...new to Verizon 4+ months ago. Received flyer in mail offering $500 debit card -- yes, FIVE hundred! -- called to ask about what TV stations were included, talked to nice customer service guy who signed me up. Had minor problems on every bill starting with #1 -- wrong charges, but small differences quickly settled by phone. So far, so good. Except debit card DID NOT ARRIVE. Called, told it hadn't "been cut" properly and thus didn't go through. (They couldn't just cut another one? Or LET ME KNOW?) Verified $500 amount of card coming. A month plus later, now 4+ months since signup, card finally arrived -- for $400! I called again. First, told guy I had talked to didn't work there. Then told he DID work there but wasn't in. Called next day, AGAIN told he didn't work there, but later someone else said he DID. Also told $400 was "highest amount" debit cards EVER issued for -- but I had RECEIVED flyer saying $500! No dice. No "the customer is always right" motto at Verizon. They wouldn't budge. ALSO having CONSTANT trouble with Internet slow-downs, error messages I NEVER got with Comcast. WHEN MY 24 MONTHS ARE UP SO I WON'T OWE THEM MONEY BACK ON DEBIT CARD THEY CHEATED ME ON, I WILL BE GONE LIKE A FLASH. I object MOST that THEY DON'T DO WHAT THEY SAY THEY'LL DO -- and then they LIE about it.

No, Verizon claims they never offered a $500 debit card, although I DID have one (unfortunately not saved) and two different Verizon installation & rewards reps SAID the offer was for $500. But I guess they were just liars -- or Verizon is!

Anyway I settled for $400.

And I'll be GONE the minute my two-year commitment is completed, because however good the service or channel choice may be, I DON'T LIKE DEALING WITH COMPANIES (or people WHO SAY THEY'RE DOING ONE THING AND THEN DO SOMETHING ELSE.
